My 42 years old Birthday...

Today my family celebrated my birthday at Hilton's "Toh Yuen" restaurant. The atmosphere there was good and quiet since most of the Chinese restaurants like Banquet and Li Garden were fully booked. Jason, Daniel and Julia went out shopping for my birthday gift together with Christine's gift too. Usually we celebrate a 2 in 1 occassion since Christine's birthday is just one day after mine. Time really flies....and Christine will be 17 years old by tomorrow..my precious little girl has grown up... and I still protects her like a baby.

We dined happily with laughter, especially when Jason played around with Julia's jacket. After dinner,we went home and my kids handed me the SK II set of beauty products which I hardly will buy it for myself due to the price! The sweetest thing is....they said, " Best products for best mom and you deserve it". This really melted my heart even though I didn't showed it.

Thank God for all the blessings.... ^=^

EVERY CRISIS IS A GOLDEN OPPORTUNITY

A downturn happens once every 10 years. The markets will eventually rebound, and you want to be there when they rebound.

Current market conditions provide the best platform for investment. This is really the time to invest.

In reality, this period will shorten your time frame for investment with price discounted as factor.

Accumulate wealth through period of time irrespective of market conditions is the best strategy.

95% of the people are basically scared out of their wits now and choose to stay out of the market.

The remaining 5% are the rich ones who always take every opportunity to invest during a crisis.

Which category do you belong to? ^-^

8 hours of sleep ....

My hubby brought me to a doctor at RH Plaza since my symptom worsened. The dry and irritating cough got worst with running nose and a heavy head feeling. The doctor gave me all sorts of advices that took me ages to sit down and listen to. From fatigue , my immune system broke down or could it have been a lack of some supplements. I had to stay away from air cons, cooling fruits, cereal, cold drinks and blah blah blah, which I could not recall all of them....still blurry.... with a heavy head.

He reminded me a few times....Must sleep at least 8 hrs every night for my systems to recover faster or it will not help with all the medication. Most probably ,it was an allergy to the weather now due to my sensitive nose and throat. Better go sleep early and wake up at 6am to wake the kids up to school tomorrow .... sigh -_- Wish me well, everyone!

First time at the RTM station...

I was asked by Vicky to do some Chinese New Year greetings for this 2009 Bull year at RTM. At first, I thought..Hey, this could be fun and this is my first exploration to something new and I agreed. We prepared a short script (in canton)and hope things will goes well for the recording.

When we arrived this morning, things changed. Jennifer, the DJ wanted to do a random dialogs with the 5 of us. The three men with different dialects were all prepared and steady while we were not prepared....Well, all went well with Vicky because she has experience before but as for me, my head was BLANK!!!

Maybe its because I'm not feeling too well with the irritated throat and blocked nose. Felt really cold in the sound proof air tight box room. An uncomfortable feeling, felling stuffed. There was so many traditional things that they talked about but when it was my turn... I felt so left out. My family are the modern type of chinese who did not follow all the traditional ways of celebrating chinese new Year. Chinese new year to us is just another festival, spending time at home , busy entertaining our friends and guest while the kids just look forward to angpows and enjoy the holidays.

Gee..When I was a kid living with my uncle, CNY was just a one day family dinner occasion and everyone was sleeping and watching TV to pass time. No visiting and no open house like the Sarawakians here. What I remembered was.. getting up early and queue up for angpows from grandma, uncle and auntie. Just plain greeting like, "Gong hei fatt choy" and leave happily with the 2 ringgit red packet. Wear our new clothing and stayed at home even though there is no where to go. Real quiet and boring, so we entertained ourself with the TV. Oh! Forgot to mention the fun part which was the fireworks (the only exciting part) . I was brought up like that and it was a huge difference when I got married and lived with the in laws.....so many new rules and traditions to follow at that time. Until today, I realized that my time with my in laws were still alright compared to the talks today with the other dialects of chinese! Oh dear, Thank God for all His blessings !~

THAT'S NOT MY NAME!

The songs that the kids nowdays listen is sooooo.....weird to me. Pretty uncomfortable to my ears and head. My kids....have a pretty much different taste compared to mine. The music we used to love like..."Nothing's gonna change my love for you" , " Careless whisper"," When you believe"," Hero"," My heart will go on" and etc etc is so meaningful, rather than the repeatitive lyrics ,whereby all u can hear is .....

THAT'S NOT MY NAME! THAT'S NOT MY NAME! THAT'S NOT MY NAME... BY THE TING TING......URGH!!! "I mean like, who can't do that?" - talent-much? "So, with this I ask you all out there, should we allow our kids to listen to this kind of head-banging music? Comment please. =)

PROFIT FROM THE PANIC BY ADAM KHOO

Remember that Warren Buffet, Peter Lynch and John Templeton all became billionaires in investing because they bought stocks at super low prices when NOBODY ELSE DARED TO BUY during the 1930s (great depression), 1973-74 (the oil shock crash), 1987 (Black Monday) and 2001-2003 (Dot Com Crash). Well, here is another opportunity of a lifetime… IF YOU KNOW WHAT TO DO...

Is The Timing Right???

How long will the recovery take? Nobody really knows but I believe Singapore and China will recover a lot faster than the US in this case. I am overweight on the first two markets more than the US right now. Historically , markets took 3 years to get from the bottom back to their peak!
This DOES not mean you must wait 3 years to make money. If you were to keep buying and averaging down the price at low price levels, you will be profitable in a year or less.

Starting a monthly investment plan as a saving tool is the best result whereby you don't need to worry much about the market ups and downs. You buy high and low and your units will be average up. Create regular accumulation units to build up solid foundation. In Long run you will only reap from what you sow.

Brainy Quote by E.Joseph Cossman

While reading my gmail I came across these quotes and would like to share it with my friends....

Middle age is when your broad mind and narrow waist begin to change places.

The greatest power is often simple patience.

Square meals often make round people.

If you want to test your memory, try to recall what you were worrying about one year ago today.

Since it is not granted to us to live long, let us transmit to posterity some memorial that we have at least lived.

Obstacles are things a person sees when he takes his eyes off his goal.

Our business in life is not to get ahead of others, but to get ahead of
ourselves.

Do not quit! Hundreds of times I have watched people throw in the towel at the one-yard line while someone else comes along and makes a fortune by just going that
extra yard.
